What is Career Coaching?
Career coaching is a practical process that aims to give you an action plan, with concrete steps you’ll take in order to achieve the goals that you set for yourself.
How does Career Coaching work?
As the coach, my role is to:
- Support you in developing your action plan;
- Encourage and motivate you; and
- Help you overcome hurdles and stumbling blocks.
Let’s look at how it works:
Each session lasts between 45 and 60 minutes, and takes place once a week over six weeks.
We’ll go through various assessment and profiling tools to help you gain a better understanding of who you are and what makes you tick.
I’ll help you formulate personal and professional goals. Together we’ll put together a plan of realistic steps that will help you achieve these goals.
Between sessions, you’ll be encouraged to take actions to create the future you want for yourself. This may involve gathering further information, visiting various institutes of interest, or having conversations with people in the industry in which you are interested.
Many of the steps in the career coaching process are very practical, and you’ll learn to develop skills such as networking, planning and CV writing.
